Do you put any truth into the Moonlighting Curse?

FACT: After Bruce Willis and Sybil Shepherd slept together in the 14th episode of the third season of the show "Moonlighting" the ratings for the show plummeted and never recovered.

FACT: I stopped watching House MD somewhere in the midst of season 7. I did. Really. Haven’t seen a single ep since.

So what happened?

I just watched the 2 Bones eps (7x01 and 7x02) which I had recorded on Monday, completely unaware of the fact that Bones and Booth got it off last season. And man, am I happy!

I must admit that after all these years I’ve come to like David Boreanaz. Well, actually, I’ve come to think he is pretty hot. Which is still hard to admit, knowing how I feel about about him in his Angel days. (Lame! Give me Spike, PLEASE!) But hey, I’m much older now and the eternal Buffy question may have lost some of its relevance.

It is kinda sexy to see him couple up with Bones. Fun to hear her comments on his “appetite” too. But do I worry about the Moonlighting curse? Yup. I do. And rightfully so, I believe. Especially because there’s a kid on the way - she looks rather heavily pregnant early on in the season and I wonder how soon the baby will arrive - which will quickly shift the attention from the sexiness of it all to family life. And we all know that family life is potentially boring …

But well, it really is a "suck it and see" situation. OK, House and Cuddy did not make the cut. But Scully and Mulder - the epitome of unresolved sexual tension - did. And Doug Ross and Carol Hathaway too. So ...

There's only one face I see

Watched 2 Sons of Anarchy eps this week and it seems we've reached the end of season 1. The Revelator was great. Awesome episode. Very impressive. Whoever wrote this did a great job. 

Jax's lines shocked me in a way. Gosh . I feel for him. Really.

Jax: Not fair? You wanna know how many women I've slept with over the last ten years?Tara: Don't do this.Jax: Hundreds! Maybe more I don't know I barely see their faces. I married Wendy because I was lonely. I got tired of the endless disconnect. It was just a sad timeout. Because when I'm inside someone, there's only one face I see. When you came home, it was like some kind of sign to me. Like my past comingaround giving me another shot to do this different. Better. And now that chance is running back to Chicago.

Did you take the Vicodin?

Non spoiler warning: I've read nothing whatsoever on what others have written on this subject, probably months ago when the ep was first broadcasted - I just checked the episode transcript. 

Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. He kissed her. She kissed him. More: she said she loves him! Ohmigod what happened? Did House MD just jump the shark? Out goes the willing suspension of disbelief.

WTF made the writers cave?

The feelgood factor is immense: knowing that Greg will bone Cuddy after all feels like poetic justice, now that we have come to know him as a damaged, suffering but basically good person. Gosh. I'm confused. And happy. So happy. Remember when Mulder and Scully kissed? I was delighted. Once the epitome of unresolved sexual tension, next loving parents. The sex remained implied. No way this is gonna happen here: for sure Greg will get his share of hot happy sex in season 7.

Is what the writers sold us in this final ep outrageously unreal? After 5 seasons of sarcasm, cynicism & hurt, they did take a new path. At the outset of the season House had hit rock bottom and then we got to know him as someone who tries to make amends. He's changed for sure. He even asked for help. Explicitely so. The first sentence Greg utters in the first ep ("Broken") is  "Help me" and that exactly is the title of the final episode. We've come full circle; from hallucination to reality.

The whole thing - I think - revolves around the karmic notion that "good intentions pay off".  The book - a selfless gift - is symbolic, it triggers a change in Cuddy.  One which I find hard to believe. (Has she gone mad? She's a mom with a reliable partner. Why would she give up the balance achieved?) But that's just me. I get the ploy.

I want them to have fun. Huddy fun. Yep.

Alexander Skarsgård is Swedish. I looooove Swedish. Anything Skandinavian as a matter of fact. He's very tall. I love that too. He was five times voted "the sexiest man in Sweden". He is not just beefcake though; he actually has talent. I never thought of him as very yummy until he got undressed. Sorry about that.

Eric& Sookie

Eric Northman is a viking. And a vampire. He's very tall. Sometimes he speaks Swedish. He tricks Sookie into drinking his blood. The bond thus made will allow him to sense Sookie's emotions and Sookie will now find herself sexually attracted to him. Sookie begins to experience erotic dreams about him immediately after drinking his blood. 

Still: Bill's the one. To me at least.

When it's not gladiators, it's biker boys

Well, it's like I can't get enough of sex and violence these days. Just watched "Sons of Anarchy" season 1 episode 8,The Pull. I do like 'Jax' Teller. Nice tats on him.

And guess what: Charlie Hunnam is an English actor. Right: Britons are hawt!

I like "Bill" for vampires and "Edward" for spaceship captains

Great: I've finally seen the second episode of True Blood (season 1) and yesss, it is definitely my kinda stuff. "Vampire Bill" Compton is quite something.

 

It was such fun seeing him wait on the porch, asking Sooky to be let in. Because vampires can't enter houses without getting invited !!! 

I will not compare him to Spike - who is by far the sexiest vampire ever - but well, he's intriguing, in a  brooding, hot way. I like MUCH!  Bill Compton was sired around the same time as William the Bloody, they might have been fellow fangs. Imagine. Hmmm.

And he's really British, Stephen Moyer, that is.

Guess what: this vampire series does not feel like betrayal to BTVS. I kept away from Twilight giddiness, and girls, I was right. True Blood is, well, the grown up version, I guess.  

Thou Shall Not Crave Thy Neighbour, for sure. 

  

I saw James Marsters as Barnabas in Caprica too and he scared me; he does not age well. That's sad. 

Obsession (1)

When it comes to nurturing my Kara / Leoben obsession, syfy forums rock! 

" I think Callum Keith Rennie is a hottie. And I used to kinda think the couple was interesting in a hot a disturbed sort of way - maybe a la Spike and Buffy? "  Oh my! That is sooo right, I wish I'd come up with it.

Livejournal too, for that matter. The fluff. The fanfic. The ortographically challenged users. Gosh. How long since I last went there?

I know I have this thing for complicated, painful passions. For delightfully dysfunctional men. Commitmentphobes. Guys you just cannot have without getting hurt. Aw heck. 

Now if it were only in fiction. But no. Alas, no. I'm a sucker for impossible love.

Another sigh and dribble post, I know. But hey, there's a good reason: I watched Star Trek (2009) and whoa, young Spock is hot. Never been a memory alpha addict. Never cruised the innernet for K/S. But now I'm cruising. For pics. Of Spock and Uhura. Or just Spock. Yummy Spock.

Rapture

This pic below is sooo blazing hot. Robert Downey Jr. and Tobey Maguire in one frame! Oh yeah, I've seen Wonder Boys. But this beats it by far. Just look at their faces. Yeah. Right. 

I love the way Robert closes his eyes. Sheer rapture I would think. And Tobey's mouth is - hmmm - mouthwatering. Gosh. No wonder he's an MTV Movie Award Best Kiss Winner.
